Reigning European and 2003 world discus champion Robert Fazekas of Hungary raises his arms after he won the gold in the men's discus throw final, 23 August 2004, during the Olympic Games athletics competitions at the Olympic Stadium in Athens. Fazekas added to Hungary's tradition of producing top notch throwers when he won the men's discus with an Olympic record of 70.93 metres, while Lithuania's Virgilijus Alekna, the Sydney Olympic champion, took the silver and Zoltan Kovago of Hungary won the bronze.
