Pictured here is: The toilet where Genell Plude died, showing her palm prints on the floor next to the bowl Genell Plude was found by her husband, dead from a mixture of a drugs overdose and passing out with her head in the toilet bowl and drowning. But her family refused to believe the 28 year-old would have taken her own life. They admitted she wanted to end the marriage after finally realising she was gay but insisted would not have committed suicide. So investigators started looking into the case and forensic evidence proved that Doug had held his wife's head in the toilet and drowned her after she began vomiting up the barbiturates he had slipped into her drink. A jury found Doug Plude guilty of first degree murder and he was sentenced to life in prison. That sentence was later reduced to 40 years.
