Pictured here is: Cave whsiperer Doug Billings searches the Joshua Tree National Park for Erin Corwin's body Erin Corwin was just 19 years old when she kissed her husband goodbye and said she was heading to Joshua Tree National Park to scout out hiking trails. The morning of June 28, 2014, was the last time her husband Marine Corporal Jon Corwin saw her alive. The investigation into what happened to Erin Corwin after she left home would expose a secret affair between two neighbours in the Marine Combat Base in Twentynine Palms, California. Nearly two months after her disappearance, her body was found dumped in one of the more than 1,000 abandoned mines in the desert. She had been strangled and discarded like trash. Married neighbour Chris Lee had been having an affair with Erin and when she told him she was pregnant, he lured her to the desert with a promise of a 'surprise' and killed her. He was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
