Pictured here is: A highway worker finding Darlene's upper torso and severed head dumped in a ditch along the highway 25 miles from her home Darlene Vander Giesen went missing over a weekend in February 2006. Her family were especially worried as Darlene was deaf - and had left her only link to the hearing world - her cell phone - behind. Investigators soon discovered a series of nasty emails on Darlene's computer and tracked them down to one of her deaf acquaintances - Daphne Wright. Wright admitted sending the emails because she was jealous and she thought Darlene was trying to take her female lover away - even though Darlene was straight and only dated men. In a fit of rage, Wright smash Darlene's skull and then dismembered her body with a chainsaw. Wright was charged with first degree murder and was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
