TIERNEY'S SEXY PAST UNVEILED IN NEW DVD These are the scandalous sex scene shots ER nurse MAURA TIERNEY hoped fans would never see. The actress, who plays DR ABBY LOCKHART in the hit medical drama, made her first and only nude scene in 1991 thriller DEAD WOMEN IN LINGERIE and felt sure the film would remain a forgotten gem after it appeared on very limited release for just one week. But the movie, about a serial killer who preys on terrified Latinos in Los Angeles' garment district, became a cult hit in Cuba after it was shown at the Havana Film Festival and now the film is being released on DVD for the first time. Director ERICA FOX remembers casting young Maura, who was a struggling 25-year-old actress at the time, and how "cute" she looked at the audition. Fox recalls, "I saw a lot of girls and she was quite appealing. She wore this Aran sweater and she had her little bangs. She was very cute." When it came to shoot her sex scene with co-star JOHN ROMO, Tierney was a little nervous but always professional. The director adds, "It was part of the movie and it was very very important to me. I made many of the sex scenes dark and scary but I didn't want to show girls dead and naked. "With Maura's scene, I wanted her to be in this beautiful setting. We kept a lot of the crew away from the set. She was beautiful. Our bodies are beautiful when we're young. She was very young." Fox made sure to add a little comedy to the scene by having the actress' character, MOLLY FIELD, take a call from her mother halfway through lovemaking. She recalls, "It's a sweet love scene." The little-known movie also features MULHOLLAND DR star LAURA HARRING and late LAW & ORDER regular JERRY ORBACH. (KL/WN/ES) Supplied by WENN
