He moved in and soon Michelle discovered she was pregnant. Everything seemed to be going fine, until she started getting sick. Her doctor though it was just stress - but Michelle became suspicious after finding out Maynard was seeing an ex-girlfriend. Then Michelle's twin sister noticed she got sick every time she was around Maynard. So Michelle set up a secret camera in her kitchen and caught him putting something in her drink. She took the evidence to the cops but they needed more proof - so they set up their own camera in Michelle's home - and caught Maynard once again putting a drug called Cytotec which causes miscarriages. Maynard was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of the unborn baby. Shortly before the trial, 28 weeks into her pregnancy, Michelle gave birth to a stillborn baby girl, whom she named Mckayla. Since the coroner found no trace of Cytotec in the placenta, he ruled the cause of the baby's death as undetermined. Michelle agreed with proscutors to let them cut a deal with Maynard and his ex Tammy Erwin, who was now his wife, to avoid the stress of a trial. Maynard was sentenced to 5 years in prison and stripped of his medical license and will never be able to work as a doctor in the US ever again.
