Husband murders ambitious young lawyer wife

''' INGÅR EJ I AVTAL ''' Pictured here is: Chiquita Tate Chiquita Tate was an ambitious young lawyer. The first in her family to go to college, she had quickly risen through the law ranks and now had her own firm. She dealt with drug dealers, robbers and murderers Ð but it was still a shock when her lifeless body was found in her office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She had been brutally stabbed 43 times but appeared to have put up a fight as blood was smeared across the walls and she had a clump of hair still in her hand. Her husband Greg Harris was the one who alerted police after Chiquita had failed to return home after working late and initially he was co-operative with detectives. But investigators soon zeroed in on Greg Ð after he admitted he had been in the area where ChiquitaÕs missing Gucci purse had been found. His sister tried to throw detectives off his scent with a story that Chiquita had been involved in a lesbian love triangle with two female clients but cops soon realised the story wasnÕt true. Then when bloody sunglasses Ð containing both Greg and ChiquitaÕs blood and DNA were found on the floor in his Mercedes car, cops knew they had their killer. Drops of blood found in the coupleÕs home and also on a bottle of bleach cemented their case and Greg was charged with first degree murder. It took a jury just three and a half hours to return a verdict but it wasnÕt the one anyone was expecting. Instead of convicting him of premeditated murder, they found Greg guilty of manslaughter. The judge still threw the book at him, sentencing Greg to the maximum of 40 years in prison.
