Student shoots lawyer boyfriend six times and then tries to clai

He was looking forwarding having drinks with the beauty queen after connecting with her on social media. There was just one thing standing in his way Ð his ex girlfriend Shayna Hubers. A bright young honours student, Shayna had also met Ryan on Facebook but the couple had had a tumultuous relationship. Ryan had tried to end the romance several times but Shayna had practically stalked him, bombarding him with hundreds and hundreds of text messages. She also constantly turned up at his apartment in Lexington, Kentucky and for some reason he kept taking Shayna back. But on the night of October 12, 2012, Shayna stopped Ryan from dating anyone else ever again Ð when she shot him dead. She fired six bullets into him as he sat at the dining room table Ð and then waited 15 minutes before calling paramedics. What happened next was a bizarre display from Shayna, who while admitting she had shot him, changed her story several times, danced and sang in police interrogation and then tried to claim she was a domestic abuse victim. She was charged with murder and went to trial where it took a jury just five hours to find her guilty and recommend a sentence of 40 years Ð which the judge agreed with.
