Pictured here is: The Roseboro's home and the pool where Jan's body was found Lancaster County is best known for its Amish heritage and peaceful Pennsylvania lifestyle. It's also home to the quiet town of Denver, Pennsylvania, where nothing much ever happens Ð until the night Jan Roseboro drowned in her pool. On the evening of July 22, 2008, Jan's husband Michael called 911, tells operators he had pulled his wife's lifeless body out of the pool. She was declared dead just hours later at the local hospital as Michael was telling investigators that he'd been asleep and woken late that night to realise the pool lights were on. He'd gone outside and seen Jan's body floating in the pool. The couple's family and friends were devastated by what seemed like a freak accident. But the medical examiner was already doing the autopsy Ð which revealed some shocking results. Jan had been beaten and strangled before she'd been dumped in the pool. She had been murdered. Overnight Michael Roseboro went from grieving husband to number one suspect Ð especially after cops discovered he'd been having an affair. His family insisted Jan had been killed in a robbery after claiming her jewellery was missing. But when it was revealed Michael's DNA was under Jan's fingernails and he had scratches on his face he was arrested and charged with murder. By now, his mistress revealed she was pregnant with their child Ð but she agreed to be a star witness for the prosecution, claiming she knew nothing about Michael's plans to kill Jan. It took a jury just five hours to find Michael guilty of first degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison.
