TURKEY TRIAL LEEDS

Ali Umit Demir (C), convicted for the killing of two English soccer fans, is escorted out of a courtroom by gendarme officers after attending a hearing of his retrial in Istanbul January 13, 2005. The case has been postponed to February 2005. Demir was sentenced to 15 years in jail on May 1, 2002, but his case is being reviewed after an appeals court decision.
