LONDON 20090429 A millionaire banker depressed about losing a fortune in the credit crunch died after bingeing on cocaine and opium, an inquest heard yesterday. Melvin Thomas Sabour, 44, managing director of AKN Investments, was found unconscious in his Mayfair flat by his girlfriend. Model KYARA DEKKER, 28, dialled 999 but Mr Sabour died of heart failure before the ambulance arrived. Westminster coroner's court heard that Mr Sabour, known as Tom, was depressed after his investments suffered catastrophic losses in the economic downturn. Questioning Miss Dekker, coroner Dr Paul Knapman asked: 'Tom used to take cocaine, often on a daily basis? He would also go out and get opium?'He would drink a lot of vodka, as much as four bottles a night?' Blonde Miss Dekker replied: 'Yes. He was very depressed.' She added that she had seen Mr Sabour swallow opium while walking with him on the day of his death, February 15 this year. Foto Alex Lentati / Solo / SCANPIX / Kod 20286 ref: *** BETALBILD ***
