Pictured here is: Brian Brimager proposed to Kristin Werkhoven just two weeks after returning to the US Five years ago, Yvonne Baldelli left Southern California with her boyfriend, Brian Brimager, to start a new life of adventure on a tropical island in Panama. But when Brimager came back to the United States and Yvonne didn't, her family feared the worst and began their own investigation to find her. Her sister Michele was receiving emails saying she had run off with another man to Costa Rica after finding out Brian had been leading a secret second life and had a mistress and baby on the side. AT first her family were relieved to hear from her but soon Michele gut was telling her something else. With the help of a friend she traced the IP address of the emails Ð and found out that it had been sent from BrianÕs address. Brian was now back in the US Ð and had married just two weeks after Yvonne went missing. The family filed a missing persons report and went down to Panama to search for Yvonne. They scoured the swamps near the coupleÕs former home Ð and found a purse, passport and bottle of pills but no body. Their appeal for information went global and soon the FBI was involved. Brian was charged with 13 felonies relating to the cover-up of Yvonne Baldelli's death - but not her actual murder until YvonneÕs remains were found a short time later Ð dumped in the swamp in trash bags. The US government and Panama entered negotaitions and invoked a rarely use law that has only ever been used twice before but allowed the US to prosecute Brian. He was charged with murder but plead not guilty. YvonneÕs family geared up for a trial. Michele, who now had cancer, gave her deposition before a trial date was set. She died a few days later and wasnÕt alive to hear Brian change his plea to guilty.
