Pictured here is: The Crafts' home in Newton, Connecticut Mum of three Helle Crafts was a Danish flight attendant murdered in November 1986 by her husband, Richard Crafts, an airline pilot and special constable. Her murder is known as the Woodchipper Murder because of the method by which Richard Crafts disposed of her body. Her death brought about the first murder conviction in the state of Connecticut in which a body was never found. Crafts, who was found guilty and sentenced to 50 years in prison, put Helle's body through a woodchipper after attacking her with a bliunt object about the head. He thought he has disposed of the remains off a bridge into a river near their home in Newton, Connecticut. But investigators found bone fragments, a fingernail, blonde hair, a tooth and fibers from Helle's blue nightgown on the banks of the river and through forensic science were able to identify the few remains as belonging to Helle.
