Mum of one murdered by wealthy boyfriend

Ukranian born Iana Kasian was following her dream of a new life in America. She was living in Los Angeles when she met and fell in love with Blake Leibel, a wealthy wannabe writer and producer. The couple had a daughter Diana but soon their romance was on the rocks as Blake was revealed to be emboiled in three different relationships - his first wife, Iana and a girlfriend he kept in another LA apartment. iana's mother Olga had come to stay when Diana was born and was living nearby - but when she hadn't heard from Iana in four days, she insisted police break into the apartment. Once inside they found Leibel, blood everywhere and Iana's lifelless body in bed covered in a Mickey Mouse blanket. Leibel was arrested and charged with murder. And after the jury was shown a graphic novel he wrote depicting a vicious murder, it took them just three hours to convict him,. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
