WWII - Invasion of Poland 1939

The image from the Nazi Propaganda! shows a portrait of Adolf HItler and the writing "We thank our liberator" below a swastika in the display window of a ethnic German's shop in Gotenhaven (Gotenhafen, Gdynia in Poland), which was conquered by German troops, in October 1939. At that time, the mass murder and deportation of the Polish population by the NS regime in the context of the "German settlement policies" had already started. Photo: Fotoarchiv für Zeitgeschichte
