Eamon de Valera, 1932

The Irish politician Eamon de Valera founded in 1926, mainly from Sinn Féin members of the party Fianna Fáil, whose chairman he became. In 1932, his party became the strongest force in the Irish Parliament and De Valera was appointed the Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach). One of the first acts of the new government was the abolition of the Anglo-Irish Treaty's oath of the Irish Members of Parliament (Teachtaí Dala) to the British crown.
