Sep. 09, 1955 - New ''Plane Has Almost'' Copter Performance: A new fixed-wing 'plane with, according to its manufacturers, a near-to-helicopter performance has mad its debut in Britain. It is Scottish Aviation Ltd's Twin Pioneer which can land with a run of only 50 yards. A 16-seater, it came about after nine years of research and planning for an aircraft to serve isolated communities in the rugged Scottish highlands and act as feeder to international air routes.
