Jul. 12, 1957 - The Lords Eject Vivien Leigh After She Had Made A Protest: Vivien Leigh, wife of Sir Laurence Olivier, was ejected from the House of Lords last night after dramatically interrupting a debate. She was sitting in the seats for distinguished visitors, just below the bar facing the Lord Chancellor on the Woolsack. Suddenly she jumped to her feet. In a ringing voice she cried; ''My Lords. I wish to protest against the St. James's Theatre being demolished.'' First to receiver from the shock was Black Rod, Lieut-General Sir Brian Horrocks, who enforces the disciplines of the house. He lept up and taking Miss Leigh gently by the arm whispered ''You had better leave.'' She was handed over to Lord Bess borough who escorted from the House.
