A Palestinian armed member of the of ruling Hamas movement takes cover as clashes break out between Hamas and members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a loosely affiliated militant group linked to the Fatah party loyal to president Mahmud Abbas, in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, 22 December 2006. Six Palestinians were wounded, including two seriously, in Hamas-Fatah clashes, medics and witnesses said. The fight erupted when Fatah loyalists tried to prevent ruling party Hamas supporters from organizing a celebration to mark the 19th anniversary of the Islamic Resistance Movement.
