MASS MEETING AS LONDON DOCKERS STRIKE A mass meeting of London dock workers took place at Customs House Fields , following the calling of a strike as a protests against the dismissal of 33 men on grounds of redundancy . About 6,200 members of the National Amalgamated Stevedores ' and Dockers' Union at the Royal group of docks and at Surrey Docs , and some members of the Transport and General Workers ' Union are involved in the stoppage .
