Aug. 08, 1963 - Barmaids cause an upset; The Irish firm of Mooney's who have eight ''pubs'' in London and have traditionally employed men to serve behind the bar, have recently taken on two barmaids. Although this move has proved popular with the male customers, the 50 male barmen are annoyed about his female invasion, and are holding an emergency meeting of their Trade Union to see what can be done about it, They argue that a woman's place is in the home, and not behind a bar, and also that if a ''pub' sells good beer, it doesn't need female gimmicks.
