London architect plans to fill in river Thames and construct canal to abolish Thames bends . A gigantic London Town planning scheme to cost £ 500 , 000 , 000 under which it is proposed to fill in a section of the River Thames running through central London , and to construct a canal making the course of the river straight has been workd out by Mr William Walcot , FRIBA , a London achitect . It is also proposed to build a great forum and stadium opposite the Tate Gallery .
