Fagnani wore the rubber glove during his break-in. The photograph was taken on 21 August 1963. The 42-year-old Italian guest worker Arialdino Fagnani from Verona confessed to have stolen valuable books and parchments as well as coins from the library of the "UGO-DA-COMO" foundation in Lonato near Brescia on the night of 14 August 1963.
