Dances and songs of their homeland

Catholic exile groups from East Europe present dances and songs from their homeland in Stuttgart on Sunday, 14 February 1965, under the slogan "Stimmen der Völker". Enthusiastically, the audience follows the performance of the young people from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Lithuania and the Ukraine. The chairman of the working-group of the Catholic exile groups, canon prelate Dr Alfons Hufnagel, said that every Christian - especially those who live in a foreign country - must have the courage to stand by their individuality. The folklore, a valuable cultural asset, should be preserved. The picture shows a Hungarian group during the performance of a dance from their homeland.
