Miss M F Miller has been entrusted with the task of making sure that the thousands of people who use Paddington Station , London , are kept informed about the movements of the trains and that they can find the right ones . Sitting in a small room above the station and facing a switchboard bristling with indicators , she controls an elaborate electrical indicator in the main area of the station which gives all the information passengers need about the trains . The indicator is the first one of its kind in the world . Photo shows , Miss M F Miller at work in her control room at Paddington . 28 March 1934
