An image grab from a video, believed to be captured on a mobile phone and posted on the internet 31 December 2006, appears to show Saddam Hussein's head in the noose just prior to his hanging in Baghdad early 30 December 2006. In the video footage of the execution, spreading across the Internet today, the ousted Iraqi leader drops through the metal trapdoor his last prayer is caught short: "There is no God but God, and Mohammed is his prophet."
