TANZANIA-RWANDA GENOCIDE TRIAL

One of two men accused of playing a major role in the slaughter of more than 500,000 civilians during the 1994 Rwandan civil war, Anatole Nsengiyumva (C), 46, who was commander of military operations in the northwestern Gisenyi region during the war, is escorted out of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha 19 February after pleading not guilty to charges of inciting genocide and crimes against humanity.
