TRAIN-ACCIDENT

Authorities check damage 04 February near the station of Apach, eastern France after a train carrying radioactive waste from Germany derailed on its way to England. The train, which included three wagons each loaded with six tonnes of uranium 235, was headed for Dunkirk, for shipping to a reporcessing plant at Sellafield, northern England. The local prefecture said that no increase in radioactivity had been detected near the wagons.
