MINE DISASTER

Dave Fellin, rescued from two weeks imprisonment 330 feet underground in Hazleton, Pa., coal mine, shows off a plastic water jug, August 28, 1963 which was the only item which he and his fellow miner, Henry Throne, sent up to the rescue shaft because they were lifted up by parachute harness early yesterday. Fellin said he and Throne wanted to keep the jug since they felt the water supply was the factor in saving thier lives. All other items were left at the bottom of the hole when they were rescued.
