Maj Vernon, fined in 'secrets'case at Farnham. Maj Wilfred Foulston Vernon, and Air Ministry Civil Servant employed as technical officer at the Farmborough RAF station, was fined £50 with 10 guineas cost of the year, pleaded guilty to 2 of three summonses Under the Official Secrets Act brought against him at Farnham, Surrey. He pleaded not guilty to a third charge alleging he had retained certain documents. The two summonses to which he pleaded guilty alleged that he had in his possession. Certain information and failed to take reasonable care of such information, and second that he retains certain documents using a prohibited place when he had no right to retain the documents at Farnham.
