WIVES VISIT LIFELINE TO TRAPPED

Mrs. David Fellin, her face clearly showing strain of waiting, presses headset to her ear as she uses microphone last night August 24, 1963 to talk to her husband who has been entombed in coal mine near Hazleton, Pa., for more than a week. Following successful puncture of entombment chamber by 12- inch drill yesterday it is hoped reaming of well will progress quickly for eventual release of trapped men. (AP Photo)
