Aug. 08, 1963 - The Reluctant Peer Wins His Battle: Yesterday, when the Peerage Bill became law, marked the end of a long struggle by Viscount Stansgate to renounce his peerage which inhertaed on the death of his father. He is now once more plain Mr.Anthony Wedgwood Benn and will be eligible to sit come more in the House of Commons. He was disqualified after being elected Member of Bristal South East because of his peerage, but Mr. ST. Clair who has appointed in his place has now resigned to leave the way clear for Mr. Wedgwood Benn to be re-elected, and the Tories and Liberals have already declared that they will not contest the by-election.
