Aug. 13, 1963 - For first publication in the morning newspapers of August 15th, 1963: H.R.H. Princess Anne's 13th Birthday. H.R.H Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise will be 13 on the 15th August 1963. In the first formal portraits of the Princess ever taken, she is shown in the uniform of the First Buckingham Palace Company of Girl Guides, standing in the Central Room of Buckingham Palace. The uniform tunic is royal blue, with navy blue beret and skirt, a brown belt and red tie. The two white stripes on the left pocket and the lanyard denote that Her Royal Highness is a Patrol Leader in the Robin Patrol. Above the Robin badge are the Brownie wings, which show that she passed first and second class in the Brownies before ''flying'' up to the Guides. The badge on the Princess's left shoulder is the Westminster Palace Company''. The tapes hanging from her left shoulder are red and brown, the colours of the Robin Patrol. The top badge on the left arm is the second class Guide badge, and the only below, the Child Nurse badge.
